Absolutely! I'm dedicated to humane dog training methods that can go by many different labels, including positive reinforcement, reward-based, force-free, fear-free, and aversive-free. This means I don't use equipment or techniques that rely on pain, fear, physical force, or intimidation. My methods align with the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's position statement on humane dog training here.

All initial behavior consultations are held remotely via a private Zoom video meeting. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a computer with a camera and microphone. I recommend joining from a computer or laptop, not a mobile phone. If you're not familiar with Zoom, please test out and familiarize yourself with the software before the appointment. Your dog does not need to be present, but is welcome to attend of course!

In many cases, yes. This is determined at the initial behavior consultation. If in-person sessions are appropriate, I may offer sessions at my home located in 60646 and/or house call sessions in your home if you're in my travel area. I travel only to the locations listed at the bottom of every page of this website. A travel fee applies to house call sessions.

A standard consultation (90 minutes) is appropriate if you'd like to discuss a single behavior concern and your dog does not have a bite history. An extended consultation (120 minutes) is appropriate if you'd like to discuss multiple behavior concerns and/or your dog has a bite history. On the request form, you'll be able to note your preference or that you aren't sure.

I don't offer evening appointments. I very occasionally can accommodate a weekend appointment (approximately one day per month). If you need a weekend appointment, please note that in the request form. There's an additional fee for weekend appointments.

I'm sorry, I don't assist with training for separation anxiety, confinement anxiety, or similar separation-related behaviors that can result in distress or panic when left alone. I'm happy to provide referrals for trusted colleagues that specialize in training for these behavior concerns.

​You may reschedule any consultation or session by selecting a different appointment using the "Reschedule Appointment" button in your email confirmation at least 48 hours before the appointment. If you notify me with less than 48 hours advance notice, or aren't present at the scheduled time, the appointment is forfeited. All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. My availability for in-person sessions can be limited. This means that a rescheduled in-person appointment may not be available for several weeks. If that's the case, I may offer you an earlier-available remote appointment to help you timely proceed with your behavior and training goals.

Yes. All sessions in a training session package must be completed within 60 days from the date of the first appointment of that package. Expired sessions that are not used in this timeframe are forfeited.
